P30FF/Cobb E30 map/no leaks/JB still installed
Getting P30FF on Cobb E30 map with JB G5 ISO board on map 0 pass through and I have no leaks and no problem with just JB on any map? Is Map 0 not a true pass through with ISO?

If you have a 30FF code, there's a leak somewhere, regardless of the JB4 being in place, or tune of any kind. Have you checked the chargepipe, and other connections, vacuum lines?
Have you tried to clear the code, does it come back up?

I would agree except for this fact, with just JB4 map whatever and boosting 16 plus never a problem. I didn't go past 11 psi with Cobb and got this code and it did come back after clearing. I agree with you by the way about a leak but leaks don't pick and choose software I would think? I did no other work to the car, I checked my charge pipe which is stock and on my bucket list and it's not cracked that I can see and it is installed correctly. I'm going to try a backend flash and or remove the JB for further testing.

A leak is leak. It can be, not limited to, vac lines, boost solenoids, sticky wastegates, charge pipe cracked, valve cover cracked, charge pipe connections, leaky dv, etc.
A 30ff is triggerd by a sustained underboost of over 3 seconds. JB4 and Cobb are not the same tune, nor do they control boost in the same manner, thus the inconsistency. A quick visual check will not suffice. Hairline fractures in parts like vac lines or plastic may not be visible to the naked eye. Things expand under pressure. Ideally you need to do a boost leak test. If you car has over 50k miles on original vac lines, I'd just replace those first. They go from the boost solenoids, under engine cover and towards throttle body area. You can replace all for under $29. It's a good place to start and good maintenance regardless if it doesn't work. There is a boost solenoid test you can do also, do a search. You can also test your DV in the same fashion. Find the leak Last edited by Jeff@TopGearSolutions; 11-07-2014 at 07:29 AM.. |

Any time car goes into limp mode you get the 30FF code.
Does not have a to be a leak. I was getting the 30FF code every time i do a pull, turned out one the fuel sensor failed and ECU thought it is not getting enough fuel. ECU put car into limp mode and i got the 30FF code.

Try Map 1 with menu 4, option 3 set (IIRC). Might be menu 4, option 2, but I think it's option 3 for the JB4 to ignore DME boost completely. I left the JB4 in for about a week after I flashed AP and then took out the JB4 altogether.
