Picking Up my New 335xi Today---Words of Advice?
Just thought I'd float this out there---anything I should be sure to review with the CA, anything I should be sure isn't missed, etc.?
Can't wait to get it! I haven't had a MT Daily Driver since 03 when I sold my 996 C2 and I am ITCHING to be using my left foot again!!! PS- the 335xi has MORE HP than the 99 996!

just make sue u know how to use the equipment, make sure you drive and hear for any noises/rattles, make sure it's not scratched/dinged and doesnt have swirls
other than that you're set man, congratulations!!!! i am happy for you, really. im ditching my 07 e92 coz i cant imagine myelf driving auto no more. good choice man. but when you're out of there, get yourself a short throw kit, or a nice shifter, coz the throw on that thing is ridiculously long |

Yes, first of all, congrats!! And it's a nice day to pickup...I did last Dec. and it was 47 degrees F.
Let the CA tell you about every feature, I think it takes 30-40 min.? Have your significant other take pics, well, it was fun for me since it was my first BMW. I look back and wish I could recreate the excitement (my next BMW wont be the same, even if a M3/5/6). My CA was female, and we have a pic where she has her arm around me and making an AOK sign....friends said are you dating your saleswoman?? Take this advice from a fool, I took the protection package for $499 when they first asked for $799 (dings/scratches/interior) and the tire protection for $390. Tell the finance manager NO. If he wants to play a game, and asks you how much you're willing to pay, say $99 for each. Either he'll give it to you, or shut up for good! Check your tire pressures, mine were low, 29/25 (consistent), not sure why. Some say not needed, but I would vary the rpms for the first 1200 mi. and don't exceed what 4500 rpm and 80-90 mph just like the manual says. Inhale as much as you can and enjoy the new car smell, it lasted about 7 mos. in my car....good luck! |

I have already checked it out 3x and driven it 2x. No issues. ALSO- no finance office to deal with. Working straight with the CA. All paperwork is done, no one even asked me if I wanted any 'protection'.

Also, please check for scratches and dings. I drove my car off the lot and noticed a deep scratch the next day on the top. At that point, it's really too late. |
