Please HELP: how to avoid loosing OEM wheel center caps? :(

Hello everyone. Just a week after I received my M235i, I lost/drop a center cap, I first thought it was stolen, but then I found out that the other M235i that was sold in my country, had the same problem. Today, I lost another one (it has happened only with the front wheels) Every time I step out of the car, you may found this funny but I hit those two center caps with my hand and I always hear a "click" sound.... I forgot to do this for like 3 days and now I lost a center cap again

Has anyone experienced this? My local BMW dealer told me that it was a factory issue, he replaced the first cap I lost for free, I don't know if they're going to replace it again without a charge

Should I go and put some super glue on them? I truly don't know how to avoid this from happening anymore

I just had two rear caps replaced at the dealer, just over a week after taking delivery. The caps were lost within two days of getting the car. I glanced at the replacement caps and they don't seem to have provision for the steel ring inside to keep tension on the tabs against the inside of the wheel bore. Maybe I just didn't see it...

I don't know about super glue - you want to be able to remove the caps if necessary. Maybe used sparingly and in a way that it could be cut/trimmed to allow the cap to come out. A very small dab of silicone adhesive applied from the inside with the wheel off the hub may be a good option. For now I'll just pound the caps in after each drive too.

Man I hate this, thanks for the reply. The curious thing is that the ones from the M135i (which is sold in my country too), don't have this problem, even that the wheels are the exact same model as on the M235i

Anyway, I see that we will need to keep on pounding them regularly until we decide to go with another type of wheels
