Cobb AP questions !

WHAT's Up BImmers !

I have a question about the Cobb AP V3.
I have 2009 bmw 335i xdrive.
I have done intake by injen (dual air cold intake), Meisterschaft exhaust.

I got the Cobb AP today, but i am little confused about the maps. (Mine is BMW ECU ID IJE0S)
Which one should i use? any recommendation about the stage 1 for me, such as aggressive, sports, and etc?

Also, do i have to consider about the boost targets? actually, i do not know what is exactly boost targets.

Thank you !

When I had no mods (exhaust and intake don't matter for the maps), I used stage 1 Aggressive with LT (linear throttle). That map will make a lot of power for you. That's a good start.

What are differences between Linear Throttle and Stock Throttle? Do you know?

and if you done with Aggressive with LT, is not too much for the engine?

If you have 93 octane run stage 1 aggressive and just log to make sure everything is running good / no timing corrections.

As long as you follow the map requirements you'll be fine. Stg 1 requires nothing, linear makes the power come a bit sooner than stock and sport is just a waste of your time. You bought the cobb for power so just max it out. I'm sure you'll be smiling ear to ear the first time you do a 3rd gear pull.

Theres a little difference thats noticeable , I would run the aggressive and throw some new spark plugs in there if you don't know how old they are. You don't want any misfires.

Search for LT vs ST. It has something to do with the amount of throttle you give it and what you get out of it. LT feel most like stock: give it 50%, get 50%...

I've never tried the sport map but Aggressive is a lot of power. These engines (N54) can handle BIG power so it's not a problem. Warning that if your plugs are old, you will probably throw a code and it would be wise to install a fresh set. Also some have had issues with coils as well (I have not)....the extra power from the flash tends to give some of these 'wear' parts, problems. GL.

I think you meant to say ST feels most like stock. Hence the acronym for "stock throttle". With stock throttle mapping, 50% pedal position = 100% throttle. It's mapped just like the factory.

For linear throttle, pedal position is equal to throttle position, 1:1 ratio. 50% pedal = 50% throttle, 75%pedal=75%throttle, and so on. Whether you select LT or ST boils down to preference. I beleive the track guys prefer linear as it allows more accurate throttle modulation. I prefer it also for launching the car out of the hole. But others like the seat of your pants ooomph of ST.

I would recommend replacing all plugs if they're over 15k miles, starting with stage 1 sport map, logging to ensure all is good, then bumpin up to aggressive and logging again.

Just try them both and see what you like. No reason trying to have someone explain it on paper. The differences will appear a lot easier in real life.

I preferred linear as it was predictable. Some people like stock because it "feels" faster.
