In cabin smell
Has anyone had a slight burnt oil or fuel smell from inside the cabin when the vehicle has become stationary? I've been getting this brief smell for 2 weeks now, but it happens off and on, and only when my car is at full temps. I took it into the dealer, and had them diagnose it. Pressure smoke tested the exhaust 3 times, and checked the EGR. They found no leaks. What other components should I check to see what could give off this fume.
This isn't a DPF regen, I know what that smells like. Car has 82k miles. EGR blocked for 10k miles after the CBU cleaning.

Yes, my 2009 has that problem now. For me it's two part...
1st is the DPF differential pressure sensor tube, one burnt and was causing a cel and the smell. 2nd is an exhaust leak somewhere near the front of the engine, I can see the smoke with bright flashlight, but haven't located the source yet. I think it's at the flex joint on the EGR. I will find it and post when I fix it. |

Would it always cause a CEL though? I don't have any codes related to this issue.
Would this also cause excessive DPF regens? I am seeing a regen every 200-300 miles now.
