Car Not Startin

HI

Just approached car, tried comfort access but it didn't work, then tried fob - nothing either...then I took keyu out of fob got in but car wont start.

P light (automatic) flickers when I push down the brake...to start the car.

Called BMW and they are going to be >90 mins.

Any suggestions?

TC

No. In fact this is really unusual.

I've used BMW emergency services twice and each time they were with me in less than 1/2 and hour.

I take it you aren't in the AA or RAC as well?

exactly the same thing happened last weekend to Nick's 130i comfort access.

His battery was mysteriously drained ?

Apparently the electrics had gone crazy because of the car's computer, there is a patch out to fix it - which the guy said i should have done when it next goes in for a service.

He restarted the computer, then i took it for a 30 min spin and all seems good.

Retrospectively the CA and the ignition has been a bit sluggish over the last few weeks.

Ahhhh, it just happened to me. Used wife's car to work that day so I went to mine to get sunglasses, radar, ipod etc.. had radio readiness on to close sunroof, do not remember if I turn off radio readiness, however, when coming back at night, rear lamps were lightly lit, very strange I used the remote to open the car, nothing, so I used the manual key and car WAS locked, so if I did not locked it the morning and left radio readiness on, then the car locked automatically after a few minutes BUT... radio readiness kept on ??. pretty amazing it does not shut down automatically to save the battery. Call Service BMW dealer to ask about the radio readiness, operator did not transfer me to the service guy, just said bring the car using road assistance. CRAP, so tomorrow will call road assistance very early, if they jump start and works then on Monday is going in for service. I am very curious to know what happened. Even if I DID left radio readiness on it should have been turned off automatically.

TRASHCAN says that previous to the incident he noted CA and ignition was sluggish, well, me too, sometimes CA will not react to the touch or if locked, it will lock again instead of open. Ignition a couple times, no ignition, had to try a couple times.
