V2 and DTC?

So i have been having issues with 3rd to 4th gear shifts in my step 335i sedan. The car goes into limp mode when I punch the gas passed 100mph. I notice that the rpms are shifting at about 6980rpms which is high but today I did some pulls and notice that I didnt have any issues until I hit the DTC button. Do you guys think its possiable that DTC can cause the car to go into limp mode if the car isnt getting enough traction. The weather in chicago is about 10 degrees right now so traction is an issue.

Thanks in advance for the input.

2.02 12-24 map custom made for me. It lessend the frequency of Limp mode but it seems like DTC is causing the problem since when its on the car goes into limp mode

The BMW CPU is much more intelligent than most of us give it credit for. Mine sweet talks my wife, keeps the kids entertained, and tells me not to bother demonstrating to the bozo in the mustang GT that a 335 is the superior machine when there is a cop up ahead. Surely it can handle reining us in when we are WOT at 100mph+ when it's 10 degrees out. Or maybe that's just a little quirk that Shiv snuck in.

Thanks for the smart ass answer, I took a risk for myself, at 12am on a wednessday night on a empty strech of highway. (i live in the suburbs) If some shit happen it on me. Im a firm believer that when its your time its your time weather you go 35mph or 135mph. I dont think Shiv would sneek that in because he is trying to help me address the issue. he would have just told me that was the issue. Just wanted some input from the forum members.

Nope, it's not. That problem is solved. Something else is causing it in this particular instance.

Hey Shiv,

Do you think it can have something to do with the DTC? Because I did get it more frequently when DTC was pressed once.

Thanks.

Easy, I'm just having some fun at the expense of the beautiful Chicago weather this time of year. I was in Evanston for a few years.

If you have AT then the DTC may affect the timing of the shift, which could cause the difference. Full DSC would damp throttle at shift and with any loss of traction, but if that were the issue then one would think you would see the problem at 1-2 and 2-3 shifts as well. Interesting mystery.
