Side effects from running x-kitty 24/7 ?

Does anyone know if their are any side effects from running the x-kitty 24/7 . I've been searching for a while but haven't found anything saying if it doesn't matter or if it's not recommended . Any help will be greatly appreciated

I wouldn't run it all the time. It's my understand it can cause issues with fueling.

I thought about making a cut out switch so you can turn it on and off, but after looking at the parts and the additional time, no one would want to pay extra for something you will only use once every couple of years.

Thanks wedge . That's the first I've heard of any negative effects. I'll unhook it today . I've been running it for the last 4 months.

im assuming the dpfix.

many members and tuners have suggested no running dp fix (O2 sims) for too long as apparently they will mess with fuel trims.

only run them for inspection only (O2 emissions/readiness).

"DP Fix" type product. It eliminates the typical O2 sensor codes from catless downpipes, and also allows the monitors to reach readiness, which is needed for some states inspections.

If you cannot run a dp-fix for an extended period of time then how do you go about avoiding a check engine light? I thought it was something you would install with the dp's and never mess with again (until you remove the dp's).

You could flash tune it and remove it. I know OFT has this capability.

Ah I see. I know the JB4 will clear it with it's "autoclear" function but I don't want to enable it to avoid it clearing any other important codes that may pop up.

If you run two o2 sims you can get away with leaving it in 100% of the time. But the standard ones available only use 1 secondary signal for both banks so it will skew the fuel trims on one bank.

So if I install catless downpipes and run two dp fixes I can leave them on 100% of the time won't have to worry about passing emissions testing, or the fuel problems? Will this also prevent any codes from popping up?

OP are you referring to running catless DP's all of the time. If so, I have been running them for 2 years with no issue. I do not use the DP fix and I am only using Cobb and I always pass emissions. I am also in NC.

Really , that would be nice not to have to install and uninstall every year

my current mods are - jb4 ISO 5 , VRSF catless dps , AA sport fmic , bms occ , BMS oil cooler valve , ER chargepipe - (2 bungs) , HKS bov , E30 , wedge flash . I had the xkitty on but took it off a hour ago since everyone is saying it messes with afr's

It is not necessary to uninstall your DP to pass emissions in this state. I am not sure about JB4 but I would bet that it clears the code and puts the system in ready mode just like Cobb.

That's why I bought the xkitty , so I wouldn't have to uninstall the DPs . I will check my car with the Bt cable to see if it goes into the ready state without it and will let you know. Thanks you and everyone for your advice

I'm thinking about getting the cobb or the OFt so I can see which one I like best . I'm going to get the aquamist 4 in jan r feb and then all I'll need upgrade is the turbos. I'm waiting to see what RB comes out with b4 I make my decision

Well now I'm confused. I got some VRSF DPs recently and got their "dp fix" as well. I was planning on wiring it in and leaving it for good. So you guys are saying I shouldn't do this?

Lol , I know the feeling . I would go ahead and put it on and get it dialed in , and then after u find the right setting take it off . That way when u need it you will only have to hook it up ( it will already be dialed in )

I don't want any CEL popping up, those annoy the shit out of me. Someone mentioned JB4 will clear it, but does it clear ALL codes or just the O2 ones? Clearing all codes sounds like a good way for something to break and me not know it, so I don't want to go that route either.
