Grinding noise when going over a speed bump (stock xi car)

So I hear a loud grinding noise coming from the frnot axle (stock 330xi) when I'm going over a speed bump at any speed higher than 10km/h. Last time I complained about this to the dealership was about 5000km ago and they found defective bushings and it was replaced and additional padding was installed. So the noise is back and I'm guessing its the bushings again? Anyone had a similar experience?

Also my fuel econ is getting worst as well (15.6L/100km up from 12.5L/100km with 70% city, 30% highway). Any correlation to the bushings?

I've heard a similar noise a few times on my 325i but can't seem to replicate it. Maybe I'm hearing things, although I'd be interested to what your dealer tells you.

My car has 24,000km on it. This car seems to have a lot of cold related problems, lol. Its already going to the dealer next week, so it'll be another thing on the list to fix.

Mine does the same. More noticable in cold temp. Probably the unusual way the suspension travels (sharp stright vertical movement) That's the only time I hear it so I don't worry about it.

when it gets cold out this tends to happen to the bushings. its not a big deal but its kinda annoying. just have them lube the bushings.

Yup same things here. The colder it gets the less suspension travel I have without noise. It could be a combo if things, rubber bushings, shocks etc. I think it's completely benign. I am not even going to bother to bring the car in.

I've experienced this with my previous car (a Lincoln LS). It's probably the bushings on the front sway bar. The guys that regularly encountered speed bumps, and repeatedly hit them too hard (fast) would wear the bushings out at a faster rate. Cold climates don't help much either. The grinding noise isn't pleasant and won't go away until the bushings get replaced. If you only hear the noise when going over really rough roads, or when forcing the suspension to travel a big range, it's probably because your bushings are shot.

Mine is practically brand new and does it

It's not really a "grinding". Anyway, this happened to my 3-4 yr old Mercedes and a little WD-40 sprayed onto the bushings cured it for a year or so.

Well, just heard from the dealership, they ordered new bushings for the suspension along with a new cylinder head for the ticking problem. We'll see what they say in 4-5 days.

Engine mount issue or transmission mount issue?

I bushing is a seperate issue from the ticking. I guess the bushing is either worn or defective. The dealer was not very specific but I'm more concerned with them replacing the cylinder head than the bushing.

I have the same thing
Its as if bottom of the car was scrapping the pavement
Only happens when it cold like -10 to -30 degrees C
i went to the dealer
they seemed to know exactly what i was talking about
they lubricated the sway bar bushings, and told me i can come back any time to have it lubricated again. (2008-328i, no mods)
I also called Customer Service BMW NA (Canada) and told them about this issue
they said if they come up with a solution they will call the Dealer to contact me.
I would hate to go through this every winter
