Single Turbo - 335is - DCT Trans

Hey guys,

I'm getting a pretty decent deal on the VFF900 kit. I was going to go RB, but I feel like I'll get tired of the power real quick. Also, I will probably have buyers remorse as spending that much money for the power gains, IMO is a lot.

My questions are, has anyone seen a 335is with a single turbo kit? And if so, did it have DCT? Also, are there any non IS cars with the DCT running a single turbo? I know it is not the best choice for my transmission, but I am not giving up having the DCT.

Jake that was at PTF and now Motiv says he can set me up with a tune that is safe for my DCT until I decide to crank up the boost. It has the upgraded turbo (6466 I think) and one of my biggest concerns is that it will have a ton of lag for it being so big of a turbo, and slipping. Jake is saying the slow spool is the reason I can get away with running it on my DCT. I do have plans to eventually upgrade my clutch packs, but who knows when. Would dropping a gear whenever I want to mash it eliminate some of the lag? What are your guys thoughts on this setup for my car? I have a supercharged drag 1/4 mile car so I won't neccessarily be missing the instant punch, I just want something that will pull hard and that people will not expect.

BuraQ has been pushing his DCT and 335is pretty hard. I'd talk to him.

Why not ditch the 64mm for something smaller? You won't be able to run the 64 at the type of boost and power it really wakes up at, so you'll be stuck with a less-than-awesome curve.

I say go down to a 6266 so it's a direct swap, you can get a bit better spool, and can still manage torque etc with the DCT.

I'm open to suggestions... The deal that I'm getting has the 6466 with it. I liked the idea because it has the potential to turn up the boost if I end up doing more supporting mods down the road. I guess I could separetely purchase the 6266 then sell the 6466, or find someone that may be interested in a trade

As far as I remember he is on stock turbo's still though, right? Regardless, it seems like the only problem he is having is the driveshafts
