Cobb personal opinions

hey guys I'm going to be tuning my 335 soon. I've been doing a lot of research and came to the conclusion that cobb seems like the tune for me. its my DD so I'm not trying to add all of these performance parts...i have dci and PE exhaust mod. i just want my car to have more power and be able to feel the turbos some more. i would be able to run the aggressive map stage 1. I'm just looking for a 40-50hpish gain. how much of a difference is the cobb stage 1 compared to stock? worth it? just want everyones opinions!

It's absolutely worth it, I loved my cobb, it will meet your goal of 50hp easily. Just be aware that misfires and codes may follow. When tuning, plugs and coils should be changed more often.

I just plan on keeping my dci and exhaust as my only performance mods. Probably a charge pipe since I've seen that they tend do go when tuned . And yes I plan on having a side fund for plugs or coils for misfires when I tune it

Add intercooler and run stage 1+. You wont regret it! The stock unit is so tiny...

I personally love my Cobb tune. Their customer service is amazing too! Since you have an N54, you could have Wedge or BuraQ create a custom tune for you.

Its a great tune. Stage 1 would be perfect for you.

Things i like-
flash tune (better control of DME)
i guess ease of install
cool device
easy to datalog

things i don't like-
no safety features
map switching requires you to be stationary, requires access port, and two minutes.
price
no autotune(not necessary, but helps for ethanol users)
1st read and write takes along time. (You need a good battery)

Either Cobb or JB4 with a little bit of ethanol should be all you need.

All cars react differently, but I'm running Cobb stage 1 aggressive. Only other mods are DCI and muffler delete (so very much like you) I had a baseline done before the Cobb was installed. Baseline I dyno'd at 289whp/302wtq with just DCI and muffler delete. I put the Cobb stage 1 on, drove around for about a week just to be sure all the settings had adapted (even though I felt the difference right away) and took it back to the same dyno. Temperatute and other conditions were about the same. After Cobb I dyno'd at 322whp and 388wtq. Not exactly as much of a gain as I was hoping for, but still a noticeable difference. I just got my FMIC in the mail, so after I install that I'll run stage 1+ and I'll go dyno again to see the increase. But Cobb alone gave me a 33whp gain and a 86 wtq gain. Take those numbers as you may. I can provide a dyno graph if needed.

Cobb is definitely worth it.
It will offer noticeable and reliable power to your car.
it also offers smooth power delivery.
That being said it does not push your car to its limit ( which most people do not want anyways) . If you are planning to track your car or push your engine to its limit, you either need a custom map (Wedge for example) or JB4.

Free ?
I thought they charge for their maps (and they should because they do a great job )

yeah another reason i dont want to add on any other mods is just for reliability. I'm fine with added power with still some reliability

No they will make adjustments to the OTS maps for free. They will charge only if you want to maximize the power of your car like a pro tune.

COBB OTS MAPS: We can help with these for FREE but we will not increase power or introduce any of our R&D on these maps. We can revise them for you to making them more "enjoyable" and "smoother". If you like the "samples" then you can donate whatever you like.

Cobb is worth it and I love it.
The only thing I would suggest would be replacing your charge pipe as it's prone to blowing with a tune. Hell it's prone to blowing even if you're stock lol.

The Accessport is a great buy. I have one, and it is well worth the money.

Also, if you get the new APv3, you can have up to 5 things displayed on the Accessport so you can monitor everything.

Also, +1 on a better FMIC. The stock one , to put it lightly, sucks.
