F82 vs F32 trunk

Does anyone know if the trunk is the same width or close to? I'm curious because I'm interested in buying a rear spoiler that fits the F32 and out it on my M4 because I think it looks much better.

Completely different trunk lids. Different material and different shape.

The M4 has an integrated spoiler (mini duck tail) in its composite material trunk lid. So an F32 spoiler will not fit on the F82.

Oh that sucks.. I just don't think the M Performance M4 spoiler looks good on AW but I think the trunk definitely needs a spoiler especially since I'm getting the Vorsteiner front lip and rear diffuser. Thanks for the help!!

The M4, in my opinion, doesn't need a spoiler. It already has one.

Your car is Alpine white. Just trade your decklid with a AW 4 Series owner for their decklid plus cash. A quick post to F30Post should net a half dozen or so locals willing to swap immediately.

Full disclosure: I don't necessarily think the above is a good idea, but if you really want that F32 spoiler you have your eye on, this is a way to do it.

I am not sure that would yield a good fit. My impression is that the rear fenders on the M4 are also of a different shape to fit with the rear decklid curvature. IMO, the fender shapes of the M4 would not blend properly with the F32 trunk lid. But I could be mistaken...

Possible, I agree, but I somewhat doubt it. There is a lot going on around that part of the car and, to preserve compatibility with the trim pieces and rubber molding inside the trunk and so on, it seems very likely to me they'd just leave those surfaces along the panel junctions alone.

It is not the most scientific approach, but looking at the GIF below illustrate better what I mean. If you look at the rear quarter panel above the tail lights, to the left and right of the trunk lid, it seems to have a different shape on the F82 compared to the F32.

Yeah, I noticed that too CAM, and I agree it does somewhat appear that there's a difference. But I still have doubt. I'd have to go look at the area closely, both inside and out, to convince myself that is a relatively trivial change. I'll check it out when I go out later.

Looks like the F82 M4 above the tail light is arched a tad more to compensate for the arch on the trunk.

However, looks can be deceiving until it's been done.

This person has put a F82 M4 trunk on his F32, and has described each side is 1mm different on the M4 trunk, that being said, 1mm... is almost nothing...

I find it does not integrate well. The curvature of the trunk does not flow into the curvature of the fenders.
