Quick Fitment Question

Was hoping someone on the forum could help me out with a quick question in regards to whether these would fit on my F80 M3.

Currently my F80 is sitting on H&R Sport Springs.

Looking at a set of 19' HRE wheels. The fronts 9 inch width front wheels with 28 offset with oem 255 tires so that should clear. The rears though are 10.5 with 28 offset as well, but the pilot sports are 295/30/19. So i am worried about rear fitment due to the 295 size tire.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks again

hey buddy

personally, I don't like those front offsets because it necessitates a spacer to match the aggressive rear offset and 255 isn't a good tire size to go with a 295 rear. that offset and size is almost identical to stock (+1mm). this will result in understeer and a little bit of unbalanced handling.

the rear offset calculates to +18.7mm over stock. its not impossible, but it is an aggressive fitment. you shouldn't rub but it might be close.

I love HRE wheels and know the ones you are talking about, but IMO the wheel widths aren't right nor the offsets.

Sorry man, just being honest.

FYI in the future this calculator is really helpful for putting offsets and sizes into context

Thanks for the honest input Kenny.

Much appreciated man, I'm glad to have someone straight shoot it then me buying those wheels for such a large sum and not being happy about it. So what are the ideal offsets for the F80 gen. And widths 9.5 & 10.5? Does anyone know?

depends on how aggressive you want it or what size tire you want

ideally IMO its best to run a 275/295 tire or stock sizes. those are the only two that make sense to me

at 275/295 IDEALLY imo it would be like a

19x10 ET28
19x11 ET 38

or

19x9.5 ET23
19x10.5 ET33

That would be about 14-15mm more aggressive than stock and be able to fit wider tirs

personally, I custom ordered some BC forged at 19x10 et30 and 19x11 et40 to run ad08r 275/295 and have more than enough fender clearance.

Ive personally been looking for a 9.5 & 10.5 rears. With those then would be smart to run a 265 & 295 tire combo if I'm understanding correctly? Surprised a 10 mm offset between the front and rear recommendation. I guess ill be waiting to get a set, was just doing it now due to the oem 18's fetching a premium. Shocked BBS or anyone hasn't released a size reference for this gen.

Sorry I'm not familiar with offsets whatsoever kenny
