2008 335i fuel pump replaced
I recently got my car back from a failing fuel pump and a brake light that was on the dash. The car thought I had 400,000 miles on the brakes when I don't even have 1000 on the car. Not even a month with my car and in the shop she went. Anyone else having problems with their 08? I took delivery in Dec. To top things off someone from the dealership stole my license plate lights and when the dealer installed the new ones they replaced them with the 07 lights. Happy New Year!

Wow! That sucks! I would complain to the dealership about the light issue and hopefully that will be the last of the issues you have with the car. But bummer to hear about the fuel pump, i figured they would have solved the problem with the 08's.

I took delivery of my 08 335xi sedan nov. 15th. I think my fuel mpump is starting to go cause im getting the long cranks everytime i start in the morning. Got a yellow engine light the other day for lowered engine power, i dont know whter i should bring it to the dealership yet. I checked with my obd2 computer and i have no codes. dont know if theyll replace my pump unless i have codes....anyone know? The long cranks only happens when the car sits for a few hours. lata

It's worth bringing in for a check, you have the symptoms and you don't want to get stranded. When/if you get it replaced, maybe you should ask the brand/model of the pump. We were led to believe that the Siemens pumps were dropped in favor of the Bosch units but I'm thinking maybe some of the Siemens pumps made it into 08 models.

I took delivery of my E92 in July, and the fuel pump failed last Monday. Went into limp mode, and the infamous "engine malfunction, reduced power" light came up.
Took it in and they said it was a faulty high pressure pump. They replaced it and i got my car back yesterday. Runs fine right now, for now at least. |

Fuel Delivery System Thread Live --> Yet Car So Broken!
So I have had enough of my 2008 BMW 335XI, and I've finally decided to claim Lemon on the Vehicle. I've been through the following Parts:
3 High Pressure Fuel Pumps 1 Fuel Pressure Sensor 1 Fuel Rail Pressue Sensor What's the deal with the fuel delivery systems on these vehicles? When I claim Lemon I have the ability to get a new 335XI OR I can upgrade. Any issues with the X6 High Pressure Fuel Pumps (on the twin turbo model) or any thing I should know about the M3s? I'm seriously thinking of upgrading. I've been blogging about my experience below if anyone wants to follow it: http://bittangents.com/2009/01/24/20...y-lemon-story/ |

I have an 08 with apr. 4,500 miles on it. I don't really drive it that much, weekend/toy car and never had a single problem with it. I only use Shell V-Power

VERY IMPORTANT
Guys please report the HFPF issue to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association..Here is the link. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/Complaint.cfm The more complaints they receive the more likely that they could force BMW to issue a recall and fix this problem once and for all. There is also an online petition to get our voices heard about the HPFP problems with our cars..PLEASE spread this around..get as many people to sign as possible.. I just did http://www.petitiononline.com/fixpump/petition.html Also this problem is finally starting to get some media attention so we need to make a stink to the rest of the world and not just here on the forums. Check this article out... http://www.dailyfinance.com/story/au...ompa/19560998/ Last edited by tibra1; 08-26-2010 at 02:23 AM.. |
