IND | ESS F8X M3/M4 E-tronic Performance Tuner

Since the inception of the E9X chassis, IND has maintained a very strong relationship with ESS. Created in the mid 90's with a focus on forced induction of our beloved Bavarian sleds, ESS takes pride in delivering a off-the-shelf solution capable of occupying space at your local BMW dealer. Over the years ESS has become a perennial favorite among enthusiasts looking to push the envelope. In addition to their boisterous numbers, ESS prides themselves on maintaining the factory comfort and reliability.

With BMW producing an increasing number of turbocharged applications all the while increasing the encryption of their DME's, full control of the factory computer is currently not possible. Unfortunately, most automotive enthusiasts are familiar with the potential of turbocharged applications. As a temporary solution to satisfy our ever-growing need for more power, IND is pleased to offer the ESS E-tronic tuner.

The ESS E-tronic tuner is designed for all fuel levels from 91 to 100 octane. Utilizing OEM grade weather proof connectors, the E-tronic tuner connects to the Cam, MAF, MAP sensors. No cutting or splicing is required and the bypass connector reverts the vehicle back to stock without removing any of the E-tronic hardware.

Features:

• Factory grade connectors
• Easily revert back to stock
• Weather sealed casing
• Standard 2-year ESS warranty

The ESS E-tronic tuner is available for purchase through our website as well as any IND representative.

Hi

Will this also work with the F20 N55 and a Pure Stage 1 turbo upgrade? My JB4 is not working as expected so seeking other solutions. How does the jumper adjustment work?

Hello Niels,

While ESS does have an E-tronic solution, no piggy back is ideal for upgraded turbochargers. Piggy back computers only control a few sensors, and airflow data starts to change drastically when higher capacity turbochargers are used.

ESS does have F series open ECU solutions en route now... this is the correct way to tune an upgraded turbo car, and is in the works as we speak.

Those are jumpers. They are used in some applications, but not the F8x M3/4 cars.
