A not so HAPPY New Year
I could say my New Year was not so happy none the less... I pull up to albertsons to get some last minute things for the New Years Eve party we hosted at OUR house.. I finish up my grocery run and get into our New X5 and attempt to back out of my parking spot and the car doesnt move. I check if it is in reverse, ya. I look if the parking break is on and it isn't but I notice it says brake in yellow lighting instead of red.
I turn the car off repeat the process and nothing happens. Car will not move even though it is in reveres... Finally a light pop's up that says Emergency Brake Malfunction! I contact BMW through the SOS and they send out a tow truck. Bascially the car is stuck, I manually removed the e-brake from the back and no luck still. Finally we had to manually override the transmission and emergency brake just to put the car in neutral and push it forward to get towed. Car had to be taken back to the dealership that night and won't get worked on until tomorrow.. Technology can sometimes really cause some drama... at that point I wished I owned a stick shift with a REGULAR e-brack and not an electronic one.
