Muffler Delete

May be a stupid question, are there any harmful effects from doing a muffler delete? You always here people making claims like "oh, the back pressure" etc. But are there really any issues that could arise from it? Does it void warranty? Does it purely only effect sound? I like that backfire sound, does it make it more noticeable with a muffler delete? How does it sound?

Thanks for your time.

This has been discussed OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. the time it took you to type all of that, you could have read a bunch of threads AND watched a bunch of videos on youtube.

Anyways, key is muffler delete is VERY subjective. SOme people hate it, others love it. It won't hurt your car or its performance, but you won't see any real power gains. It'll only void your warranty work if the dealership can prove that the root cause of your problem was from the mod.

Its not super loud if you have stock dowpipes, pretty loud if you have aftermarket carless ones..

It won't add any power, it'll drop weight by 40lbs or so, sounds pretty good. Go for it.

When i had my muffler delete i started having a long crank after 6 months. Once i put my Bmw pe with secondary cat delete on it started normal. Not sure if its just a freak thing or if it was related to not having back pressure.

I weighed my stock muffler when I had it deleted. It tipped my scale at 38lbs. I love how my muffler delete sounds. Yes, you'll get the popping and "backfire" that you're looking for. And to the guy who commented about back pressure.... do you know how a turbo works? Less back pressure is better on turbo cars, it lets your turbo breathe. I'll take a video for you later sometime. I'll admit though, it had to "break in" or, moreso the car had to adapt to the muffler delete. It didn't sound as good the day I had it done, but it sounded better over time. At first it didn't pop and back fire, maybe for like the first two weeks. But after that it started to.

If you want loud then yes, muffler delete + catless DPs.

You know what. might as well go straight pipe lol

That pretty much is straight pipe.... Muffler delete, resonator delete and catless DP is straight pipe. You want loud though? Get catless DPs and when installing them, only connect the turbo side, don't connect the exhaust side.
