Anyone tested the "profiles"?

I have the 1200 miles service scheduled for next week. My plan is to switch to the "Guest" profile before handing over the keys and then switch back to my own profile when they are done.

Anyone tested this? Is it "safe" in regards to keeping the settings?
I guess I can just test it myself prior to going there but would hate to mess up allmy settings in case it doesn't work as expected.

Your key does not contain the "settings". The car maintains the settings and the key provides the information to which settings it needs to pull up. If they wipe your settings during the 1200 mile service the key provided during that service will not matter

Save your profile to a USB. You can upload it to a new car or loaner and also have it handy to reload if needed.

I was not saying the would wipe your settings, I was just letting the OP realize notated what key he takes the car in with will not matter. "If and only if they ddid wipe his settings. Not that they will"

I dunno, I think it's a thrill to set the mirrors, seat, everything back to my settings. Anyone can drive mine, but I own it. That makes me feel pretty darn good while trying to figure out where to put the start and stop away.

@MRV99, your signature kills me every time. They don't, just make the men drive them, M's are for ladies and me.

Thanks for the replies. My thought was that if I change to the guest profile before handing over the car/keys any changes they make to the seating position, mirrors etc. ( and they do ) will be for the guest profile and all changes will be reverted back to mine when I select my profile when I pick it up. Hopefully it works this way
