335i in snow
I finally had a chance to drive my 335i in moderate-->heavy snowfall last night with snow tires (blizzak ws-50 215/50-17).
Quick and easy review: no problems at all (accelerating, turning, stoping..etc) Traction control kicked on a few times, but I always felt very confident that i had full control. moral of the story: if you live on flat land (i.e Michigan), then the 335i w/ good snow tires will be just fine. Just watch out for other peeps that forget to put their snow tires on. |

I put the blizzaks REVO1 on. Car does not handle well as far as a, well, well-handling sports car, but I've never had problems, even living in Syracuse, NY.
Plus 140 pounds of sand in the trunk...

Big mistake to put that much sand in the trunk. You are changing the weight distribution and that could impact braking and other things.

No hills at all? How fast were you going?

Thanks for the update drexplode. I'm waiting for my blizzaks to come in so that I can throw them on for the season. Even though I've had to wait a bit longer because they're back ordered from Tire Rack, I'm glad I chose them... they're not that easy to come by this season.

I don't think 140lbs is going to make much of a difference in terms of weight distribution. Don't worry so much.

The WS-50s are a little "squirrelly" on dry pavement; but i don’t really mind. Makes me look forward to warm weather with the 189s |
