Car Wont Unlock
My girlfriend has a 2007 328i sedan and for some random reason today the car will not unlock. The remote doesn't unlock it and the button from inside the car will not unlock the doors. She can unlock the drivers side door with the actual key in the door, but thats it. Normally if you pull the handle from inside the passenger door, it'll unlock, but this doesnt work either. I know the remote isn't dead because it will lock the driver side door after she unlocks it manually. Is some security function screwing up the door locks? Help!

That happened to me today including all doors and fuel cap. If this problem is recurrent makes the car unsafe and dangerous in case of accident. I think must be reported to the safety transportation agency.

Fuel cap is locked because the doors are locked. They're not the same mechanism. If you need to get gas, just unlock your drivers door at the very least and it should release it.

I had the same problem - remote didn't work and the unlock button on the center console didn't work. I had to use the key to unlock the driver door and my wife had to crawl through the driver side or Dukes of Hazzard it through the passenger window.
I brought my car into the dealer and they replaced the driver door control unit (I have the Comfort Pkg) and reinstalled the CIP software. To unlock the fuel cap, I had to go into the trunk, open the back side panel and pull the green fuel cap ring to manually unlock the fuel cap. |

Same thing just happened to me. Got out of the car and locked the doors, and the driver's side door made a funny sound and didn't lock. After that, I can no longer unlock the doors with the keyless remote or button in the car. I can only unlock the driver's door with the physical key. Discovered that one of the fuses was blown, but replacing it didn't help.
