New to different wheels

Ok .. so, very basic questions here for everyone except me, I suppose.

I wanna change the wheels on my 14' 235. Staggered wheels.

I wanna keep 18's, here is what I'm wondering:

1) What are the "offsets" people are talking about?

2) "Spacers" .. Just to push the wheels/tires further out? What's the benefit of this? Just that it looks better?

I am looking at the Enkei Tuning Raijin's.

I'd like to be in that price point ..

In a perfect world, I'd like a wheel that looks/is concave showing depth and I'd like to run 255's in the rear, I don't know if that is feasible at or around this price point.

I have access to a number of different wheel suppliers through the "Base Exchange" (Military), I have a credit balance there, and like to use that for some of the purchase.

Enkei being one of those suppliers.

Any quick help with this would be fantastic.

I am not looking to lower the car anytime soon, if that matters.

Thanks!!
