Angry Let's start calling BMWNA about steering wheel lock problems 1-800 831-1117.

My 2006 325i had a new steering wheel column replaced. The damm car won't start after several tries of inserting the key, and turning the wheel left and right. They first tried to update the software and this did not work. so the column was replaced. When I picked up the car after about 12days in service, the problem occured again 2 days later. I no longer want this car because I'M AFRAID that it will leave me stranded somewhere. I'm working with the dealer and trying to get rid of this damm car that I financed. they told me that they were going to contact A MARKERTING ENGINEER from BMWNA. Does anyone know what this is, Because the dealer is not sure themselves.

I've had the ELV sensor changed, not the steering column. In and out in a day.

i dont think its possible for that to happen.

anyways, this has happened to my 07 320i, they updated the software, and got me a new steering column (or whatever its called) and problem solved. apparently, its quite common. i wouldnt worry about it happening while your driving.
