GTR First Test - 3.3 0-60 and 11.6 ET @ 121mph!
Wait until they buckle a Procede/JSb/SSTT/Helix on that beast... 70,000 is starting to sound pretty damn reasonable, that is a faster 0-60 than the Porsche TT, Viper, C6 Z06, etc! The 1/4 mile isn't to shabby either, wow, I imagine high 10's low 11's with tune/intake/exhaust? Either way, sick... and stopping was 104 feet from 60mph and 72.9 slalom!?

awesome numbers...to bad i heard it also drives much rougher than a gt3 or even a gt2...who the hell would want that...i could understand for the track but damn on the road...they gotta be nuts...it is 70k in performance...they forgot about everything else....$$$ wise it couldn't be done!!!
still this car is gonna be an unreal track BEAST!!!!!!!! but everyone says DEFFINITLY NOT an everyday driver!!!! let's take the sti in account...super fast for a 30k car you would think if they could make a 32k car go 0-60 in 4.5 3.3 for 70k should be doable....but the sti sounds like SHIT when you drive in one...the noise is horrendous..the glass is so thin and shittie you can hear so much road noise and so much wind noise...the engine sounds like it's in your lap and doesn't sound particularly well...this car will be the ultimate bang for your buck in the nissan...but who the hell wants one as a daily driver once they actually drive it? i am still gonna love seeing them fly by but still if i wanted a 3 sec car for twice the money it would still be a 997 911 turbo...they are just so nice to drive and have more than speed and handeling and can be an everyday driver!!! and that is an awesome deal as well granted almost twice as much it has a lot more to offer than a fancy nav gauge screen and all-out speed and handeling...the car is just so refined...the sti is a car that is everything but refined...so many problems with that car....loose panels..the frameless windows seals all fall apart...i am just worried that this is how this car is gonna be...not like a refined german car...but a japanese speed/handeling beast with road noise and rattles beyond belief...can you imagine how much that car is gonna rattle!!! every nssan i have been in and i mean EVERY ONE has had rattles even tyhe infiniti's and it wasn't just one!!! in the end a HUGE applaud for the accomplishment by nissan in coming out with such a car with unreal speed and handeling!!! but by no means is this car a daily driver and no one on this board should think it is esp by the reviews of this car!!! they say it makes a ZO6 Corvette seem like an Oldsmobile after driving the gtr...that would not be fun!!!! but damn i wanna take one around a track!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

i remember hearing it and reading it that the chairman at nissan said you cant really do much with the car to improve HP like the car is already maxed i geuss there trying to say, which i said is hard to believe but if it is idc really its already like a performance monster and for the money its a freakin bargain you cant go wrong except waking up and look at the badge saying.... nissan and you payed 80k for that. and for other parts of the world its like double/tripple that.

Hmm....I feel the excitement of the op but , enough is enough. Bottomline, GTR is going to be a tuning monster. Anyway, a well known tuning company in Japan named 'MINES' has already started providing accessories for GTR including a ECU upgrade. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/28/i...r-nissan-gt-r/ |

Anyways, only one magazine review has said the car was hard on bumps compared to the GT2. I'm sure its softer then my 02 S2000 was, which I drove daily for two years perfectly fine and happy (had to get back seats however). |

Didn't BMW say that too - piggyback will always work to start as they have to build the car to handle more boost for high altitude operation, so that automatically makes it easy to piggyback and add boost! Might takes some time to crack the ecu, just like the 335, but it will happen.

Must be an M3 loyalist.
Having to grant licenses or not to mod it, in the end it is still modable some way. It is typical that a famous company like MINES will have a crack at it..they do have some of the fastest Skylines out there. Im surprised HKS or Blitz hasnt stepped up with a car of their own either. |

The GTR has different adjustable comfort setting. According to some early reports, it a great street car as well as a great track car. Imagine getting rid of the heavy 20" wheels and RFTs for some light weight BBS and stickier less rigid tires. The wheel spin looks too excessive in the videos.
