I have a production # (West Coast US)

While I was in Mexico last week my saleperson got me a third week of February production allocation. I revised my specs today to Alpine White exterior. Still undecided on interior until I can see Fox Red.

International request: Anyone have a Fox Red interior that would be willing to send me a little leather clipping from under the seat or somewhere? It looks good in the brochure and on the website, but I don't want to order it sight unseen so I've got Black as a placeholder.

The dealer's computer system is pretty cool in the way they can sort or access information. He showed me how, for instance, you can sort by color or feature and region and see all kinds of data (e.g., on the West Coast 62% of M3 Coupes in four colors have been ordered with sunroofs).

Sorry, I know this is in the wrong forum, but I hate jumping between forums.

LOL, congrats but I don't think anyones going to too keen to cutting up their seats for you. You may be lucky enough to find someone that will ship you their headrest or something if their car is sleeping for the winter. But thats a long shot...

Anyways, I've seen fox red. Just order it

Congrats Greg. What was your original color choice before you switched to AW?

Maybe your dealer can get you a FR swatch from BMW? Surely they must have some at BMWUSA somewhere, and since you are obviously a serious customer they may be willing to help you out.

No date known at this point, but my guess is that if production is done by 2/22 I should receive it about 6 weeks later, so early April--perect time for driving! At this point the production time is approximate; it could move up or fall back depending on actual production rates for US models.

You'd think BMWUSA would have them, but when I emailed a couple weeks ago they said they did not yet. My dealer says there are leather colors, like Lemon Yellow, that have been available to order for some time that thy've never had samples of, yet they were supplied samples that were never available in the US, as well. As soon as the M3 shows up on "Build Your Own" I will inquire again.

I had selected Space Gray, and as I dwell on it more, may yet switch back. The red interior seems more appealing with the gray. If I go with white, I may just get the standard Speed Cloth and save about $2,200 total (paint + leather). My salesperson says that early in production orders get locked down sooner by the factory (no changes) than later in production, so I don't know how long I have to make changes.

I say go for the silver/blue interior - check out some of savage ulm's pictures and I think you'll be sold on this extended leather plus carbon trim.

I am thinking the same. This option would save money but I think AW and speed cloth would also look great.

This is a car you're going to have for a long time I assume. Therefore I'd find a way to get it the way you want it since you will have to drive in it for the next 4- 5 years.

I know I'm keeping mine for the long run, so I'm getting it exactly the way I want it now. I'd hate that 2 years down the line I say gosh I wish or I shoulda or I coulda. Yes it costs more but to me its worth it.

Nope. Hanging tight and continuing to ponder color choices. I'm hoping the announcement on the 20th at NAIAS will shed some light on either DCT or pricing. I'm guessing I have to about the end of the month to make changes.

I just don't know. White is more aggressive, but I think a red interior would look better with the gray, and be classier.

I can certainly arrange to show it to a homey.

Rasmussen BMW. I was #9 when I got on the list in 10/05, then moved to #2 recently. Lot of drop offs because of the economy, or people wanting to wait for DCT or the sedan.

Update

Decided today to stick with Alpine/Fox, and added PDC. Status 112 since last Monday, so hopefully 150 soon. Debating biting the bullet and opting for the Audio option, as well. Maybe we can avert a recession if we spend enough!
