yes, there is shockingly little data on these
-spring rate? -how spring rate was determined? -spring length? -minimum drop vs stock (assuming max perch height) to name a few

That's because they are springs, not shocks

If my calculations are correct based on the H&R TUV submission paper that was posted few weeks ago, the F82 super sport springs at 150# front and 350# rear, I do not know if this makes any sense though, little weird for me to see such wide range in a front heavy car.

It's all about motion ratio. That sounds way too soft, though.

They would... it's 3 times the price of springs.
Better get coilovers.

Installed the springs yesterday. Best of all the ride was somewhat floaty before, now it feels like the the E92 M3 again. Looking forward to installing sway bars from Dinan when they are released. Want to make the car give feedback, and ride like the E92 M3 again. I think with the sway bars it will be very similar. Highly recommend this!

The excitement that was partially lost with the more capable suspension/chassis of the new car is simply just toned down a bit and masked. Install these springs and the car really starts to feel like the E92 M3 again. Looking forward to installing the sway bars. Last edited by BigMacSmallFries; 10-05-2014 at 05:30 PM.. |

No, biggest improvement of the F8x M3 over the old one is the suspension, easily. What's lost is the road feel (crevices, cracks, small bumps) because the suspension glides over everything making the car feel floaty and slightly disconnected, not to mention the electric steering. Same story with the new 991s compared to the 997s. Just had a joy ride in my car on some winding roads, these springs bring back all that road detail that the OEM setup hides. Surprised how much more feedback the KW springs give through the chassis compared to the OEM springs. Highly recommend this.

We took some accurate measurements based on a full tank of gas, and about 50lbs of weight in the trunk that I always have in the car.
Front needs to be dropped 1.5" so that the top of the wheel edges to the fender flares are the same front and rear. This is the result. Did not want to touch the rear ride height because it is already very low. We confirmed this at the end by remeasuring the heights. Drop in front: 1.5" Drop in rear: 0.0" Note: 20mm/18mm spacers front/rear. No rubbing. Last edited by BigMacSmallFries; 10-05-2014 at 05:55 PM.. |
