Driver's mirror staying down after reverse

So, when I go in reverse my mirrors point downward, which is great. What they don't seem to do is consistently return to normal position. Any behavior of mine that could induce this? I sometimes turn off the PDC while backing in/out, as the beeping drives me insane, even on the lowest volume.

Thoughts?

The mirror switch controls this. When the mirror switch is in the driver's side position, the mirror tilts down. When the switch is in the passenger position, the mirror should be "normal" view.

Hope that helps, you can find this info in the Owner's Manual on page 56.

I think you misunderstood the question. He has the switch in the position which triggers the tilt down when reversing. He puts it in drive gear and the mirror doesn't always return back to normal position (it stays tilted down while in forward gear).

There really is no way to make this happen. Sometimes Germans do weird things, but this isn't one of those "oh, you just have to do this and voila!" Something is wrong. Take it to get looked at and maybe have your side mirror replaced.

I'll take a look at the switch, but the "BMW Service Center" comment was the one I was dreading.

Both mirrors, or just one?
