Lightbulb Anyone know how to read French? (1200 service done during ED Trip)

Hey Guys,

Got my 1200 mile service done in Dijon, France during my ED trip. I just want to confirm that they did everything correctly but I can't read French that well. I can easily tell that they changed the engine oil with the correct one but that's about it. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I will help you out.
-Standard service
-Check-up after break-in
-Oil filter kit
-The engine oil
-Oil for the diff
-Last i don't know. A cost for workshop products probably.

And they gave you a price to clean it.

I don't see the diff plugs. But the oil should be done.

Thanks so much!!! Yeah I'm not worried about them not changing the engine and diff oil but more so them not replacing the plugs...

wel there is a 80% chance that it won't leak, but keep an eye on it.

I had the same detail on the invoice when I did the break-in service and they changed the plugs. I know it because they didn't have them and I had to wait 2 more hours to get them delivered at the dealer.
They explain me that changing plugs is in the instruction in the standard service.

Interesting. I also had my service done in Dijon France this summer. For some reason, your bill is 106EUR less than mine (see attachment)

The extra they charged me compared to you are line items to "change the engine oil", "change the diff oil", "engine oil plug" and "diff oil plug".

For some reason, the unit cost of the diff oil on your bill is almost 3x the cost of mine, but they needed 50% more oil in my case (.03 vs .02 units)

"Waste disposal" charges are also 50% higher on my bill (peanuts, but why the difference ).

They also charged me one more "unit" for the "check-up after break-in" (8 vs 7 units).

Other line items such as "standard service", "oil filter", and "engine oil" are the same on both bills.

True

The bill is re-imbursed by BMW Canada as good will under the maintenance program, so there is no additional cost to me. However, I am still a bit shocked at the disparity between the bills. I would have expected some sort of standaridaztion here.

The labor rate can be different according to the region. In Paris for example, is more expensive than others cities because the life cost is higher so the salary as well.

Salut cousin

Both cars were serviced in Dijon. And if you look at my post, it is not the labour rate that explains the ~100EUR difference (30% more), but rather how many line items were charged. That should be standard IMO. Why would the basic 2000km service need be different from one F8X to another . I see un-clean dealer practices here.

Not sure? I'm surprised it was less because my girlfriend and I don't speak the greatest French so it was tough talking about car related topics with them. I would think they would over charge me for not being a native hahaha.
