Cobb AccessPort Grade Tuning Solution?
I already reached out to Cobb and they confirmed that they do not intend to provide tuning support for the 235.
Does anyone have word of a comparable solution in the works? Something with professional tuning software similar to AccessTuner Race? |

I too contacted them a few months ago, did not seem promising.

Your only solution is a piggyback , JB4 is the most logical option

EDIT: I see this one is actually a piggyback, but still doesn't affect my opinion. |

Oh interesting, I'll have to take a look at their software. I still have firm policy against piggyback systems especially though. Their [engine] failure rates give me nightmares.

I haven't heard of a single one. There are several instances of engines failing on bone stock cars, however... |

Why don't you go ask the guys on e90post running 600+ rwhp what tuning they run? Everything you've written in this thread screams that you're a Dinan buyer so just do get it. Cobb has zero interest in this platform now with the current DME. |

This car is too new to definitively prove how it may affect this particular engine in this car. I'm opposed to piggybacks because it introduces a point of failure, it must operate perfectly at all times under all conditions to avoid damage to the engine where as with a re-flash, your only concern is that the re-flash go smoothly and doesn't brick the ECU. I have far more faith in the ECU itself rather than the cheap aftermarket interference device used to manipulate sensor data with. I'm opposed to their design more than anything. At the end of the day it's a sophisticated hack, not a reconfiguration tool.
As far as Dinan goes, I like their product, but wouldn't be comfortable without the visibility and control that goes with something like an AccessPort. |

Oh I thought Dinan had a reflash for this car, my buddy has an n54 335i with a Dinan tune and is otherwise stock that has one of their flashed tunes applied. I was referring to their flashed solution. I was really impressed with the fact that they would maintain the warranty, I've never seen that before.
