1200 mile service

My car is in for the 1200 mile service this week.

For all you guys who have already had it done ...

How long does it take? I have been told they will need the car all day.

What should I check to ensure all has been completed ok?

Also is Launch Control enabled at the same time?

Thank you!

Mine took a bit over 2 hours which included fixing a small paint fault.

I believe that it includes releasing launch control but I haven't looked. It does update the service record on I drive.

Two days. If they haven't got the sump plug and diff plug in stock. Surprisingly common problem.

Did everyone have their service included with the service pack?

It was 4 small spots under the clear coat on the rear wing which showed up in bright sunlight at certain angles. Apaarently treated with a heat gun, certainly worked.

Mine's booked in for next week as they didn't have a replacement car available this week. When I rang up to book it they told me to drop it off the evening before they do the service "so that it is totally cold when they change the fluids".
So I'm leaving it on Monday night and picking it up Tuesday afternoon.

It's included in the service pack, but I'm not sure exactly what they do while they have it.

Totally cold?

I would have thought you want it warm to drain more freely?

No pics. 4 spots on rear quarter panel behind the door biggest about the size of 5p piece. They were sort of translucent like water under the top coat. Only could see them if stood about 1 metre away from car in sunlight. Fix seems to have been perfect.

...That's what I thought. Oh well, they're the experts I suppose?
Anyway, when I get it back at least I don't need to think about short-shifting all the time

Must have been quite visible.. hopefully no issues with the YMB paint!

But I must say, quality control from BMW seem to have gone downhill....

What are your personal thoughts of it? the colour and interior combination?

Would look better having carbon bits inside, but do you like the black leather ? or silverstone?

I think it would look better with the black wheels. I don't like the aluminium blade interior trim and think it would look better with the carbon. Not too sure on the black leather or Silverstone. The Silverstone would give it a contrast but then again black is always a safe colour.
