I noticed a weird noise coming from my car when I shift. It only happens when I go from first to second or second to third. It sounds like an exhaust flap opening and closing and I can only hear it when the window is open. The sound appears about 1 or 2 seconds after the clutch is released and the car is in the new gear

It happens at random moments too. What is it?

I would Imagine it's your exhaust flap opening? Assuming you have a 335

It certainly does sound like the exhaust flap, but why does it open and close from 1st to 2nd gear? I can hear it at almost every 1st to 2nd gear shift.
