Closest Race So Far w/ V2: Modded Camaro SS

Unfortunately I couldn't video this race as I have a 6 Speed. I was trying to show you guys the sound of this beastly SS but it won't let me upload Quicktime format. The SS was REALLY agressive sounding, so deep and loud I could hear it on the freeway when it was approaching me from 1/4 mile beind me cruising at 80.

We ran twice which I was hesitant to do because it was 45 degrees this morning and my car was still reading 120 degrees I'm not sure if that holds it back at all, probably not good for it either way lol. After the first run which was neck and neck, I was up to about 160 degrees and it seemed to loosen up a bit.

We ran from 70 to 120-130 (nearing 6krpm in 4th) and I only gained about 1/4 of a car although at 70mph he was slightly better in his gearing so he would start to inch on me with his NA power then I would slowy real it back on him as my third was geared taller so he would shift first. I would hit 4th after him and was afraid he was gonna pull during the shift but i would slowly start to inch on him, nothing significant, fairly close. Wish I coulda gotten it on a good video, this SS sounded like it belonged on the track

I know this has no point of reference for performance since we don't know what he was packing but I have been around a lot of cars and this one sounded insane, had to have some sick cams in it.

An LS1 M6 with headers and a cam (old school motor, lol) will put out around 400rwhp and run around 116mph in the 1/4, for reference.

Last time I hit my governor it was at the top of 4th just before I shifted into 5th. So i would guess 100-200 or so RPMs below redline or at it. 130-140 is kinda low for the top of 4th. What gear did you start the race in? If you started in 4th that would make more sense.. in that case try 3rd at 70.. it's a little high but you don't have to breakboost or double clutch your way into boost like you would if you started in 4th at 70.

Roll racing is like a way of life down here..

One of the guys I met when I used to live in LA, had a 2001 Z28 supercharged street legal and was making 600whp.

The LSx motors always responded very well to certain inexpensive mods.

So you were dead even?

those Camaro's can be anywhere from a 9-12sec 1/4 mile cars and look the same on outside. I am sure you surprised him more than he surprised you. Good run

Your 535 is running Procede? I would love to see some numbers from the 535 crew. I don't believe we have been hearing much back from them. Where are the exhaust applications for the 5 series they must be in serious need of some attention. They want to take down M5s just as bad if not worse than us 3 series guys.
