Leaking windshield wiper fluid

Anybody else have this problem? I thought that I needed refills quite often right from the beginning. Now I actually see the fluid dripping out and also obviously noticed a puddle under the car when I have it sit for more than an hour. I see it leaking out from right under L front just behind the spoiler. I scheduled to have it looked at Saturday.
I have seen a few postings regarding this already. Just to make people aware. It's not just the "winter package using all this fluid for the headlights washers" - that's what I thought initially.

I've had this problem for over 1.5-yrs now they still haven't found the leak.

Basically my low washer indicator comes on like every 3-weeks. Now I just go to the dealer and tell them to top if off.

And yes they'll tell you it's just normal for the headlight washers.

I could live with 3 weeks, but how about 3 days without even using it! I am having the Niagara Falls of blue windshield washer fluid happening right under my car. So bad that it makes me feel I gotta pee when I am watching it.

Had it for 3 years strait on my E46.. They kept telling me it has no leak yet I would put in 2 gallons of water and the next morning I had a puddle.. Gave up on trying to get it fixed.. My heart sank when my E90 low washer fluid light came on, but thankfully just a fill up and its been fine.. But from my experience is the plastic is cheap and tends to crack.

I've got the same problem. Now, I know what is going on. My left Telescopic nozzle is leaking. I have to replace it.

Where is the puddle, is it right under the tank? I've seen quite a few of these tanks leaking on dealer lots when we had sub-0 temps, there was more than 1 new car with blue iceicles hanging down near the right front wheel.

The puddle was under the right front. You could see it dripping just ahead of the right front wheel from those plasticky "mudflaps". Got it fixed - it had to do with the connection to the right headlight washer that was leaking.

I have exactly the same problem as you guys. My E92 is 5 months old. Since I took delivery I top up the washer fluid and 1 week later the warning light comes on. The time lapse between the top up and the warning light depends on if I park my car often on downhill slopes. If I do, lots of the washer fluid will drip from the left underside of the car just behind the headlight washer nozzle.

I have taken a picture just to show you exactly where its dripping from (night shot though)

I would prefer to fix this myself, and i'm convinced its probably the connection to the left headlight washer but I don't know where to start looking. Any ideas ?

Tank leak or crack. Had the tank replaced on my E46 under warranty at some point.

your headlight washer nozzle is bad... leaking.

Place a large piece of cardboard under the car to loacte the exact location...

OR you can just manually pull hte nozzle out and the fluid will likely flow.. Had it replaced in teh E90 4 months ago.. ~$300 (out of warranty)

Unreal! I was filling up my washer bottle for the first time a couple of weeks ago and the fluid was running onto my garage floor. I said "what the hell!" Well, I guess I'll bring that up with service when I bring it in. That's such a stupid little thing to have as a problem. I've never had that happen before, not to mention this is a brand new car!

I had this problem, and the service guys found a faulty O ring on the headlight washer assembly. Fixed it and have not had any problems since.

mine have been replaced twice - both times for bad headlamp washers, they just broke and leaked all over the place. once the hose popped off too!

You should do this yourself.
Remove the wheel and wheel housing - the front part.
You will see the headlamp washers. When it's dry try to pull out from the bumper. Usually the washer starts leaking.
If you want to remove the washer (telescopic nozzle), first you have to remove painted cover. My washer was tight fitted and it was hard to replace.

Took the car in for a check on this problem this morning. Just received a call from the Dealer saying that both headlamp washers are leaking, the left more than the right one so they will replace both. All covered under the warranty.

I will let you know tomorrow when I take the car back how it all went.

Got the car back while a go and refilled the washer tank twice. No leaking anymore. Dealer did a good job, replacing the two washers.

Conclusion: BMW quality control on the headlamp washers slipped

Glad to hear that yours is fixed. Mine have been perfect since that dodgy "O" ring was replaced.
