Album Artwork and Hard-Drive

Hi guys,

Is it possible to get the album artwork to display when you store your iTunes music to the car's internal hard-drive?

How do you go about moving the music onto the USB? do you just copy the folders within the iTunes music library in file explorer or is there another way?

Cheers

Yes, you can move the files to USB drive or burn them to a DVD. If the album art work is part of the metadata, it should show up in iDrive.

I think you need to make sure files are MP3's and not Apples ACC files.

Yes, you are correct just copy the files to USB drive/stick and connect to the USB input in your center console. One you connect, and you select the USB drive, you hit the options button, and then you will be able to select copy files to hard drive. Mp3 and m4a files should definitely work. Some people have had issues with m4a files and others have not.

Any time! Let us know how it went.

Ahh, makes sense I am the same way. Except I didn't plan to buy my car, so I am learning everything now lol.

I was able to put mp3s and m4as files on a USB drive and transfer them to my hard drive. Really easy process and the artwork transferred too. Both types of files played.

Not a fan of having to go through each folder in iDrive to play music if I just drag and drop the iTunes music (since they are all categorized in artists/album folders).
