Akrapovic Delete-R (Confirmed)

Not sure if this is old news so don't shoot the messenger but Akrapovic is now set to release a Delete-R kit for the F8X M3/M4 so no more CEL on the downpipes

Price will be $495.00

I mean...their exhausts are 2x to 3x their competition... so some wires normally priced at $70-110 should be in the $300 range hehe.

The Delete-R isn't an 02 sim, its clears malfunction codes every 5 minutes. Trouble is if you get a code other than for catalyst efficiency you may not know it. If this part works as it did for the E9X M3.

The Delete-R is a JB4 without the tuning features, it eliminates codes via CAN if I remember correctly.

Photo released...does not look like the old one. I wonder if the connections will get in the way of most piggy backs on the market.

Not the simple OBD install it use to be. Looks like this would use some of the piggyback connectors. JB4 will have an advantage in the piggy market because it offers CEL delete.

I know people who have. You definitely will need this or a JB4 if you want to avoid the check engine light. Please PM me if you need any more help.

I wonder if these would work?

http://www.bigdaddiesgarage.com/mini-cat-cel-fix.html

It looks like it just filters some of the exhaust before it hits the O2 sensor

I remember Gintani saying they might had found of way to not get a CEL.

Never heard a follow up or any info from some owners.

Quote:
Our test car has put on approximately 300 miles without a CEL light coming on. We've made our secondary o2 sensor bungs on our down pipes with a special design which we have been testing on our M5 and M6 for a while now with no CEL lights appearing. Now, we are testing them on the M3/M4 and pretty confident the results should be the same as our M5/M6. That being said, there is still no 100% guarantee of a CEL not appearing as of yet.

I thought I read Zima and Gintani don't throw a code? I know ER throws a code. What would be the difference between them? The height of the O2 bung?

I believe that to be the case, kind of wish I had gone with Gintani.
