Rust from rotors on wheel

Has anyone noticed that rust from the rotors after washing the car tends to settle on the wheels? After the first couple of drives after a good wash, I notice red rust residue building up on the black wheels. I don't think I had this problem in my last M3. I guess I can take a towel to it but its annoying that on an otherwise clean car, the wheels look like shit.

Wah,

I've noticed a rim inside the barrel of the wheel directly below/above the rotor. I thought this was residual cosmoline that spun out of the inside of the rotor, and I've been working on removing it. Now you've got me wondering if it's a bizarre collection of rust.

Having the same issue here w/ my M4 that has the black wheels. It's probably the only negative thing on the entire car.

Haven't noticed it yet. I think I saw detailers domain selling something you can spray on the rotors after washing to keep them from rusting and getting rust on the wheels

I've been using this for a while. It works pretty well.

I have always loved a clean car, and have intensely hated brake dust and rotor rust after washing! I traded out of a 991 Carrera S for my M4, and because it was much less expensive anyway, got CCB's! WOW! Easiest way to have clean wheels, no dust no rust! I would pay $9K just for clean wheels in a heartbeat, plus they're the best brakes I've ever had. You might try a different pad, softer pads are great for street driving, no squeal or grabbing, and they don't need to warm up to work well (stop the car!) like track pads. Maybe save for the CCB's?
