Anyone disappointed?

So I have 2500 miles on my m4,installed DPs,so far I have been disappointed with the M4 ,I think I hastily traded in my e92 M3 for this car,it feels light ,that's ok ,sounds like crap and just does not have the feel of the e92 M3 ,am I the only one with buyers remorse?? I m thinking about trading it in
May be once a tune comes out perhaps it will be more exciting to drive

I have owned BMWs for 40 years and have owned 17 of them. My M4 is without a doubt the finest one I have owned. Guess everyone's tastes are different, because I even love the sound. I am sure you can find a home for yours where someone will truly appreciate it.

Hope you can find a car that you won't be disappointed in.

To each their own. For example, I never thought Angelina Jolie is that hot, but many people would call her a 10.

The new m3 is a 10 in my book. My e92 always felt like an 8 since the first day I picked it up.

Not all cars suit all people. You are certainly entitled to your opinion and there is a lot that the M6 does that the M3/M4 does not. You're going to take a bath on the new car considering how small the discounts are, but if you really don't like it, go for it. The M6 is an interesting car, and looks good out on the road but is very ungainly in photos. Also keep in mind that they are completely miserable on the track, there is just about nothing that can make a 4100 lbs car fun on the track. I found the brakes to be inadequate for even fast canyon carving, too, so spend for the CCBs. Make sure you get a 2015+ because the 2014s have the older iDrive.

I think that the M6 doesn't feel any faster until you're at go to jail speeds and you give up a lot of the tossability for some additional luxury.

Your would be happier with the E92 M3. here whys.

All the tune is going to do is add more power, its not really going to change the car completely.

I would go back to the E92, and put a supercharger on if you feel the need for power.

Also if you like the M6, i would go for that. IMO the M6 is the only M car i would buy right now.

Many people think the M4 sound like crap BTW. IMO a full exhuast S65 or S85 puts the F10 and F80 to shame in the exhuast department. but if you dont care about sound, they make good power. because it seems as times goes on, all people care about is power.

I think stock exhaust sounds ok when you leave it stock.
Maybe little bit on quiet side on certain rpm...

Problem with stock exhaust is apparent when you start freeing up exhaust gas flow.
With my secondary cats delete, I noticed some bad exhaust note at upper rpm range and during cold start (plus incredibly stupid metallic rattle from valve flaps). Mid range rpm still sounds good.

I think sound on my exhaust would get really bad across all rpm range if I have both primary and secondary cats deleted.

Best thing to do on exhaust system is to either do nothing to it or get quality aftermarket exhaust if you want to make it louder.

Lol , the M6 is a blast on track. I just recently did a track day in my BMS tuned CP M6 on stock PSS's . The CCB's braked all day in 95 degree heat from 150 mph GPS and I passed a Lotis Exige on R comps , a 991 GT3 ,kept up with a 900 HP GTR with aero and an E46 M3 race car on slicks . It had zero temperature issues and pulled like a freight train all day despite horrid temps . The only downside is it's weight causes increased tire wear . Oh and even stock mine did 0-100 in 7.6 seconds, and trapped 126mph so yeah it's a lot faster than an M4 .

Why add downpipes without tuning? You should do tuning first then downpipes. Tuning is out now for them!

Not sure what´s your experience with the M5/M6 on track, but this guy seems to think they are a lot of fun, he even prefers it to the GT-R!

Very nice! What pads are you using with the CCBs? And how are your lap times at VIR?

I just used the stock CCB pads , no fade at all with Castrol SRF fluid and feel was almost as good as my PFC BBK with PFC 08's on my Z4M . I have unfortunately never run VIR , my first time there will be in November in my supercharged Z4M R as I am just finishing up its track conversion ( half cage , Motion Control 2way external reservoir coilovers and rear strut tower reinforcement with Clevis mounts for a rear coilover. It should be easily capable of sub 2:10 on the VIR full course , once I get the hang of the track .

Am an instructor and have driven an M6. I don't like heavy cars on track. I bet I'd like it better than a GT-R too, but I don't really like GT-Rs on track either.

Honestly, my e92 was too heavy to have fun with on track, and likely my f80 will too. My E92 was probably as fast or faster than my Boxster, but the 981 is way more fun.

Sorry for continued questions, there are so few first-hand experiences How are the pad wear afterwards?

That Z4M should be a blast, I am sure you will like VIR and get hooked

So the pad wear was not bad 10k of life off the fronts and 4k off the backs according to the displayed wear indicator . Feel free to PM me with more questions so the thread can get back on topic .
I test drove a non CCB M4 with DCT that had an 80 k sticker without full leather . For that price it is not an appealing enough package in my opinion . The chassis is amazing , but the old style McPherson strut front suspension is a huge let down for track use as it has zero camber adjustability . The luxury GT M6 has a more track oriented front suspension geometry. One member used up his front tires on his M4 after one weekend at VIR . For 80 k it should have come either at the initial advertised 33xx weight or had an adjustable uneven A arm suspension like the C7 vette . My two cents .

OP, that sucks. Been there a few times myself. They're different cars, just sounds like the e92 put a bigger smile on your face. Nothing wrong with that, just different strokes. Best of luck getting that feeling back.
