Look much better in person than in photos, really happy with them.

Good luck with the blizzak. Had a set a while back and was extremely disappointed. Kept them only for 1 winter. Pirelli were also disappointing. I have been driving on Nokian Hakkas for the last 6 winters and would never go back.

Love the wheels though. Nicer than the standard wheels ( although they are growing on me).

We'll see I won't drive this much in the snow. Got two AWD options in the garage. Got the max performance Blizzak. PSS are no good in the cold, just need something to get me home if it gets bad while I'm out most concerned w handling when weather is good.

One thing I'm not concerned about is the wheels. Love them.

Well my personnal experience with Blizzaks and Pirellis was that it felt as if i was driving on ice all the time as soon as there was snow on the ground. Poor traction and scary braking. Even worse on real ice. I have had only RWD BMWs (335i, 335is prior to the M235) and found the snow/ice driving to be confidence inspiring and handling on dry asphalt to be superb. No studs (not allowed in the office parking). Limited noise.

Nothing but positive things to say about Nokians, well the Hakkas (5s before and 7s now). Don't know the R2s.

Just so I'm clear you're talking about Blizzaks from 7 or 8 years ago? I've heard nothing but good things about the current performance ones.

True that, but it left such a sour taste in my mouth that I'm keeping well away.

That's fair, I am the same way about certain things. Just wanted to make sure I was clear on what you were talking about.

Also there may be a difference in what one person thinks is a good snow tire versus another, depending on where you are in the country and conditions, etc. I got the performance winter LM-32 because for me the most important thing is how they handle when the weather is fine and being good enough to get me home, when driving slowly / carefully, if I am out someplace and it starts to get bad. The WS80 is probably better to be driven when it's crap out, but like I said that's not as important to me. That's what the Macan is for.

I understand where you are coming from. As this is my only car, I'm more concerned about being able to go where I need when I need to. That said, the dry weather performance of the Nokians is nothing to b*tch about too much.

17x7.5 BBS SR with 225/45R17 Blizzak LM-32. Went to the trouble of a test fit now bc 17" scared me for clearance. One more admittedly subpar photo.
