Plastic oil pan

Does the 235 have a metal oil pan?
Just reading new VW Golf MKVII has a plastic oil pan.
I'm not sure how I feel about plastic oil-pans?

Most non xDrive cars with N20 (228i) have a plastic oil pan. Some N20 also have a plastic oil filter housing.

I've seen a few early production F30 335i (N55) with a plastic oil filter housing.

ZF auto transmission oil pans have been plastic for years.

Even saw a rear transmission mount on a F10 that was plastic.

Nice thing about plastic? It doesn't corrode.

If you consider "plastic" oil pans plastic, then might as well call traditional oil pans tin-foil.
