Tires near PCD

Has anyone gotten a car from the PCD in the winter and needed winter tires put on the car before heading home? How did you handle this?

I haven't but I'm pretty sure the PC could work something out for you. They have and can order BMW parts so you could have a set waiting for you or already on the car ready for your trip home.

Remarkably, no. They said they don't deal with tires at all, and referred me to the local bmw dealer (Century). The dealer said that, since the F80 is brand new and BMW hasn't even announced a winter wheel and tire set yet, there may well be shortages, and availability to coincide with delivery of my car in a few months was a crapshoot.

I guess I'll just have to wait for spring.

Well in that case you could have wheels and tires shipped to me and you could swing down to my house in Columbia, SC before you head north, and we could swap them out. I'd be happy to help you out.

I personally wouldnt recommend Century. They are semi-shady.

If it would help, you could have tires shipped to me and I could hold them for ya. I could take them to get mounted/balanced on a set of wheels for ya, but I dont have a truck.

Thank you, vastano and AMPowerJ, for the kind offers. At this point, since neither BMW nor Tire Rack can even guarantee availability of the wheels and tires I would want, I think I should hold off. I really appreciate your willingness to help.
