Backup sensor fault with radar detector install?!?!?

So has anyone installed a K40 or Escort 9500ci in their 15' M4 or M3? I had a K40 installed first and then when issues popped up had the 9500 installed. Same issue with both units. As soon as the Laser shifter are turned on, when the car is put into reverse (6 MT) I get an error and the backup sensors do not work. The camera still does but not the sensors that make it beep. As soon as the laser shifters are unplugged everything works again. The Shop that did the install called Escort and they said they have had a few complaints of the same or similar issues and are going to get a BMW from a Dealer to work on a firmware update.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Also, anyone know of anyone who codes in Florida?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Check out the AntiLaser Priority. It is available with up to 5 heads. You get the option of using one of those heads to monitor the nannys and potentially stop this problem.

Cheers.

The issue is this:
1) I have the units already that are integrated with the radar unit (Passport/Escort 9500ci)
2) These may cause the same issues.

After speaking with tech support at Escort, apparently the new BMW is working on the same frequency as the jammers and if you have the lane assist, anti collision etc package it causes the backup sensors to fail. They are going to get a M4 from a Dealer and figure it out and come out with new Firmware to fix it. I am just hoping it happens quickly. I know with my C63 I had to use some sort of adaptor to fix it but nothing as of now is made for the M4.

I also assume I can code the rear sensors to default off which would keep the error message from popping up and allow my backup camera to turn right on which would be a fine solution until they come out with a real fix instead of a bandaid.

It seems to have fixed itself. The first day I had the issue, now for the last 4 days it has not caused any issues at all. Not sure how it would fix itself like that but it has. Hopefully it stays that way.

Garage List
My V1 continuously detects a radar signal and I have the collision avoidance and lane change warning features. I will check with those features turned off.

There are companies that make a little control box that keeps your own detector from going off from these sensors or your detector causing these sensors to go off. I had to use one on my C63 and another AMG I had as eel as an Audi RS5. I however do not have the issue with my M4. I would assume you are getting a "K" reading showing up on the detector?
