To encourage the massively profitable CSiC brake option, I would not be a bit surprised if unlike they did for the E9X M3, BMW are not offering a track pad for the base brake system.

We ran track pads with steels at the ring last month on 40 or so M4s. All were supplied by BMW. Didn't ask where the pads came from, but can reach out to my contacts at M

Wouldn't shock me to hear that those were the stock pads that BMW ran. Be interesting to find out. These brakes are in a whole different league from anything BMW's offered on an M car before.

I believe they have already announced a track pad with the performance accessories.

Turner has Pagids for F8x.
http://www.turnermotorsport.com/BMW-...rake-pads.aspx

I called them last week and they said they have RSL1s in stock, and RS29s are on back order.

I got some!

I have a request into Carbotech for pads... will update once I hear back. I don't think they are hugely popular in the BMW crowd but I ran XP10/XP12 on my C7 and really liked them. What I like most is you can run the Carbotech 1521 street performance pad when not on the track and it has almost no brake dust and also performs similarly to OEM street pads (well, it did versus the C7 OEM pad). The pad material in the 1521 is compatible with the XP racing pads and, therefore, I find switching back and forth is easy and trouble free without squeally street brakes after a track weekend and no need to clean up the rotors.

I used Carbotechs on my Exiges and they were a great upgrade over the stock pads and the Pagid Blacks that came with the 2008+ Exiges I really disliked the Pagids on the Lotus). Good to know about the 1521 - I'll have to see how bad the squealing is after switching, but probably a good bedding procedure each time wouldn't be a bad idea.

F80 XP12/XP10 pads already available

i don't think they are that profitable. they certainly do not improve the braking performance on a track over the steel braked cars. i would love for someone to let me prove it but i would be willing to wager as they are the same design as porsche pccb 3's that the oem pads on ceramics wear even faster than pads for steels on track.

and porsche doesn't offer a track pad for pccb while they do offer one for steel. porsche uses pagid pads although they are formulated specifically for porsche. sorta like N spec michelin tires.

Nope. They were track pads that screamed, squealed (and stopped) relentlessly.

Any updates in this department? Something track oriented but still streetable which won't eat my rotors?

No need to wait for special F8x brake pads. I ordered pads in the M Performance brake kit size and can confirm they are exactly the same size and work perfectly.

I ran XP12/8 and XP10/8 on my mini along with the 1521's for the street. It's a great street/track solution that avoids pad compound compatibility issues.

The Carbotechs are great. I also ran them on my Mini XP10s and also on my 370Z. Works like a charm. On the 370Z I changed to XP10s during the summer and stock ones for the winter. The Mini had XP10 year around.

I understand the Pagids are not compatible with other pads?

Is this for sure? So any pads designed for F30/F32 M Sport brakes/BMW Perf brakes will fit?

It makes me really sad to know that they through parts bin brakes on the M3/M4...wow.
