Car is faster with gradual trottle

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this, or maybe something with my car. If I am in 3rd and gradually put the petal down as the car picks up it seems fast, if I just go wot, it seems to accelerate slower. Running cobb stage2+. Will get some logs done soon.

Haha I was just talking to a friend about this. I think it's because on stock throttle settings, 1/2 throttle it's closer to like 80%, so WOT isn't as aggressive feeling.

Do you have linear throttle settings or stock throttle settings?

I've noticed the same thing in 2nd and 3rd. I'm on stock throttle setting Cobb Stage 1.

Yes, I've noticed that as well but I've pretty much narrowed it down to the fact that my tires are spinning or DTC is going nuts and pulling timing.

Running the ST map now, had it on LT, but car feels slower, at least off the line.

I am sure my tires aren't spinning...a least not that much! (my new conti dw's hook up well). I have not tried a run with the DTC off. I just wonder if it is the engine control pulling boost via throttle corrections or pulling timing at wot. Hopefully some logs will shed some light. Come to think of it my last car, a JHM tuned Audi s4 behaved similar with gradual throttle vs wot...and it was naturally aspirated.

Why are you going WOT with the DTC still active? Our cars have a super sensitive traction control system. I've gone WOT in 3rd gear (awd/xi) with my DTC active and the ECM "stepped in"...

I will try the DTC off next time I am playing around, but the car still accelerates harder with gradual throttle, so you would think that would be the time the DTC would kick in the most???

easing into the throttle will reduce wheel spin...at least in my car it does

Well of course it would...it has to do with the level of input given the pedal position of the stock throttle calibration (as already mentioned above). This is especially true if you have an auto.

I saw this thread the other day...I've experienced it myself but nothing came to mind. But then today I remembered that sometimes you get big timing pulls due to boost/load overshoot. I suspect that when you ease into the throttle you are less likely to have that happen.
