Suggestion for your 1200 mile service

Brought my M3 in this morning for it's 1200 mile service. When I made the appointment last week, the service advisor mentioned that mine would be the first of the new M's to be serviced. Just got a call that they don't have the seal in stock that's needed for the rear differential plug after they do the fluid replacement. They'll overnight it and I have a free loaner so it's inconvenient but not the end of the world. But something to ask your dealer about when you make your first service appointment.

Good tip. Smart to remind them that the differential and gearbox plugs are one-time use and to have them and of course the correct fluids and filters in stock.

Just got my call.... we need to hold your car until tomorrow as the drain plug we need isn't in stock.

No big deal I didn't want to drive it home in a torrential downpour

According to my receipt they did

1) Standard Scope because the CBS indicator said the scope was due.

2) 1200 mile service, Changed oil and filter and differential fluid

3) They found a nail in my left rear tire and repaired that

4) I had some squeaky/creaking door seals which was fixed

I have a manual transmission so no launch control info

They do not. My SA was under the impression (just under 2mo ago) that they would, but this is in fact not changed, and he stated as much just before returning my car to me.

I am confused, some people on the forum said they do and some said they don't. So what's the real deal here? Anyone have a solid answer from BMWUSA?

It has been discussed at length: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1032920

Bottom line is, the current schedule, as well as your maintenance book, states the transmission oil is a "lifetime" fill and will not be changed at the 1200 miles service.
