Which mirror do we have (Blendmount question)

All,

Planning to mount my V1 in my new M when it comes. Which mirror do we have in the F80? I forgot to take a pic during European Delivery.

For reference:

As best I can tell, there are two different mirror designs in the F8x depending on the options that you chose. If you have a front camera in the mirror (LED lighting package or drivers assist package), then there is not currently a blend mount that works with that mirror. They are beta testing a design for this mirror but it is not available to purchase as of yet. If you do not have the camera, then BV1-2017 is supposed to work. I found this out the hard way...by ordering this mount based on another post in this forum only to find out after calling to see what I was doing wrong that its not the right mount for my mirror.

I just installed my V1 using a Blendmount that's sized for the M4 mirror. Be aware the plastic cover behind the mirror on the M4 is larger than previous covers with that mirror size and the Blendmount mount will not work without modification. I had to make an extender (approx 1/2") and replace the bolts that come with the mount with longer bolts.

Looks like I will need to wait until the new version is out of beta, then.

Will the BV1-2017 work on a 2015 M3 without a camera? I am getting confused.
Thanks

I believe so- there is at least one post here where a member has said it's the right fit.

Well just am FYI, I had the mount to my previous E90 and it didn't fit. So I ordered this one and works like a charm! I will look see which it was I ordered, as I got this a couple months ago, pre-delivery of my F80.
Sorry for the dark iPhone pics.

It doesn't look like it. I have the LED adaptive lights and my mirror assembly looks different than the pictures posted.

I never understood the appeal of these mounts. The V1 fits perfectly above the mirror using the included mount. They even say it works best when mounted high on the windshield. In that location, it is out of your face, partially hidden (if 5-0 is standing at your door, it is difficult to see), close enough to press mute, and doesn't block your field of view. To me it seems by using these mounts, it just puts the radar detector in your face... and with the many false alerts, the thing would drive me crazy. Just wondering what the pros are to using this... don't mean to shit on the thread.

I could be wrong but where you have it mounted, it could block some of the signal and you might miss out on alerts.

Nope... had it like this on my e92 for 4 years. The forward antenna sits right below the dot matrix. The rear is not blocked either. No problems. The thing chirps too much. Sometimes I want to toss it out the window.

TBH the mount interests me because sometimes the suction cups fail in the heat.

Yes, that has happened to me a few times. I'd come back to my car and the V1 would be hanging there. I am a little concerned that it will fall and scratch my CF trim, but I think the power cord will catch on the mirror and stop the fall. Well, I hope...

Did anyone ever find out which Blendmount we need for the F8x? I'm not sure that has ever been answered on this forum (only other alternatives, such as MirrorMount, which looks very cheap to me).

Just got the PerformancePackage Mirror Mount Radar Detector from Amazon. I will say its well made and fits. HOWEVER its way too in my face!! It sticks out past the rear view mirror. I am used to it being a few inches further back attached to the window. I think ill return it and stick with the good old suction cups, they keep it out of the way better
