Eisenmann Race Exhaust?

Just curious if anyone has read anything if Eisenmann was producing an exhaust to fit the M235i? Maybe an existing one to fit? I have searched a bit, but haven't found anything.

Curious about this too. I think they will. I hope they will.

i can't imagine this should be all that hard. Being that the 3 series is pretty much the same engine. I think the muffler for a F30 3 series would almost fit on a M235 with little customization

I emailed the company, but haven't received a response.

I'm a little confused with this exhaust as I had a 3 series and did a catback, but now I have to do downpipes, mid pipe, and axle back? sound right?

Its real hard for aftermarket tuners to keep up with all the new bmw lineups unless a product is compatible. There will be more testing, r&d, etc...prbly cost them more money too

Good news! Got a reply from Eisnemann... they said they should have it ready in 6 to 8 weeks. Excited to see what it sounds like and parts they offer.

Hi

Here in UK/Europe, eisenman make a system for f21/f22 m135i either twin outlets or a quad.

Tail pipe length from rear muffler are shorter than 2/3 series.

System is back box only.

Seen and heard a quad and looks/sounds good.

Yeah, I live in the UK as well for now and they are who I emailed. He said that he would get back to me when the product is finished. So now I have to order my car and it should be here (since I order American spec) in the UK by beginning of Nov.
I'm assuming I'm going to need a mid pipe? My next question is, is there a catalytic converter in the stock setup's mid pipe? and if so, would it be better to go with a carless DP or carless Mid?

On m235i there is only one catalytic converter and it's in the downpipe.

The whole exhaust from downpipe back is one piece and has no others cats but has a small resonator just ahead of rear axle and then the muffler at the rear.

I have MPE and sports cat DP and it sounds superb. You may want just eisenman rear box and a different DP.

Hey guys I actually put the Eisenmann race exhaust with the 3.5 inch tips on my 2014 335 MSport. I can tell you right now it sounds amazing! I didn't swap out the downpipes and I can tell you it is still a huge upgrade in sound. The low RPM burble sounds awesome. I find myself def driving in sport + mode alot more haha. My buddy and I took a great video of what it sounds like at low and hig RPMS. Below is a link to the video on youtube.

Sounds very healthy.

Eisenman tends to be pricey for rear muffler only.

I got MPE and sport cat DP for less than eisenman. To me, my combo sounds better and engine really benefits from hi flo cat DP.

Okay, I understand better now. And from what I have read I would need a stage II tune if I am upgrading intake, charge pipe, FMIC, DP's and exhaust? Also, is the resonator needed? Not familiar with resonators on a car.

On these cars circa 2k rpm ie at cruising speed, resonator cuts drone.

So it doesn't take away from performance at all? Decreases the exhaust note?

In general, despite claims of near double digit Bhp improvements, upgraded exhausts have little effect on performance. If resonator effects power, it will be v marginal. Decat or sports cats are where gains can be made.

Some aftermarket exhausts do offer resonated and non resonated mid pipes. I heard m135i with decat DP and racing (in resonated) version of milltek exhaust. Sounded too raspy and too loud for my tastes. Likened it to a plumbers toolbag when it was first fired up !

I've opted for MPE, stock resonated mid pipe and sports cat DP and the car sounds superb in terms of tone and volume. Keeps within most if not all of the trackday circuit decibel limits here in the UK so it's "fit and forget"

Raspy is also something I am trying to avoid. I do really like Eisnemann Exhuast though. I was going to go with a Catless DP and eisenmann race exhaust and see how it sounded, if I didn't like it then I'd go buy a catted DP. Just wasn't sure if I need to change cut the resonator out or keep it in to have it stay quieter in the lower RPM range.

Your choice, but I wouldn't decat or remove resonator if you want to avoid rasp

I think it just depends how loud you want the exhaust to be. For me it is plenty loud with the stock downpipes but that is just my preference. I do agree for an axle back exhaust eisenmann is pretty expensive but the quality is top notch. The only reason I bought it was I found someone on the F30 forum selling his and I got it for 1550 shipped and it only had 3000 miles on it which was a steal. For that price it was def worth the purchance as the sound is 100 times better than the stock exhaust. The MPE just didn't give me enough for 1100 bucks and I figured for 300 more I can have the eisenmann. But again that is my preference.

Mike,

Was the eisenman for F30 and fitted ok to your m235i ?

How is the stock out if the tailpipes?

I assume the tailpipes clamp around the outlet pipe from muffler so you have some adjustment ?

I actually have an F30 and it fit on over the stock exchange pipe fine. I can't see the m235 exhaust being much different the my 335. The tips were already on the muffler but are fully adjustable. Just needed to loosen one bolt and you could center them.
