Help installing this 7" VRSF IC
I just bought a pre production 7" VRSF IC that came with a bunch of couplers and clamps already attached on it. This 7" IC was on Tiagos personal car.
I was told by the previous owner the install is straight forward very easy as long as you trim and make sure the couplers are on tight. Is that all thats needed ? Is it better to use new couplers and clamps ? |

You should have everything needed. Just remove the stock stuff, and bolt up the clamps to stock charge piping.. You'll have to trim your plastic in the bumper but there is a few install DIY;s on here if you search.

This is an OEM connector FMIC which was the first version we sold, there shouldn't be any couplers involved. It uses the OEM connections, just as the stock FMIC would use
If that guy had an 09 and used the couplers you sent in those pictures, he had it installed incorrectly or mislead you in selling it to you. We never sold any OEM connector FMIC's with additional couplers and in order to fit an 09 and up you'd have to use one of our lower charge pipes which were never offered with the OEM connector FMIC simply because it wasn't necessary. Because the OEM connection is a very large performance restriction. The OEM connectors neck down to less than 2" which is not ideal for any car putting out over more than 300whp.
After doing back to back testing, the 2.75" connector that's present on our current intercoolers offer a noticeable power gain along the entire band & noticeable intake temperature reductions over the OEM connector version. This is mainly a result of freeing up the intake tract and removing back pressure from both sides of the intercooler outlet. |

It's not a bad intercooler, definitely better than stock but the same intercooler with a larger inlet and outlet will easily outperform the OEM connector version.
