Since posting I did some proper checking and there are quite a few for sale all over the country.

Many dealers think they can sell for above the cost of a new model as "demand" is strong despite the fact that I have seen at least 10 sitting unsold for over 6 weeks now

above cost? BMW won't stand for that- report them to BMW CS.

Also beware of below cost, if you do get a deal keep quiet about it as BMW have canceled some orders.

I saw two dealers selling cars which specced new are £59,850 and they had them for sale at £62,000

Menzies in Stirling have a black m4 in stock at the moment, it's a demo car that's had it's first service and is ready for sale.

Not sure when they would become available but you could give them a call and find out.
