Just moved to Chicago, what's happening?

Sup?!

Just relocated to Chicago (near downtown) for some school stuff, hoping to connect with fellow E90Post members here to get my car fix during my stay, lol.

Are there any weekly meets or BMW events coming up? Would live to come hang out.

And damn, Lakeshore Dr. is absolutely beautiful to cruise down. Hell, most of downtown is.

Welcome! Another great drive is taking Sheridan north up into Winnetka and Glencoe. It runs along Lake Michigan and it gets a little twisty with some elevation change.

And I've only done one cruise with these guys before, but I know that there are frequent meet ups over on ChiTownM. Might want to check them out.

Anyways, welcome OP! We don't have many meets for just E90post members. We do have one large one that's becoming an annual thing. Look for the "Big Meat" thread around here.

Chicago; grab you body armor and duck when you hear a pop. Most of the tarts there seem to be using the spray and pray technique.

Not sure which ghetto you visited... I never felt unsafe for the 6 years that I have been living here so far.

OP, LSD is great on weekday nights, after 10-11pm you pretty much have most the street to yourself. Just watch out for crater size pothole during the winter and springs.

Another route is going up and down Sheridan Road from Chicago to all the way up to Waukegan, just watch out for cops.

If you are up for a drive, the rural area between WI and IL also have some great roads that are mostly empty if you go at the right time.

I brought my E92 down. Wish I could bring the M5, but I'd probably have anxiety attacks from it being parked on the street all the time

Awesome! Thanks for the tips. I've been scanning the roads in front of me like a hawk. There are some frame-wrecking craters around downtown. Damn.

And I love bombing twisty country roads. I actually drove LSD last night and it was quite a drive with the fireworks going off in Navy Pier. Is that a nightly thing?

We suck but come out to Liquid Fusion Linconshire (bit of a drive from downtown but enjoyable) for cars and coffee next Saturday 11am-1ish. Lots of BMW guys there.

It's next week though, they do every other since there are a lot of Saturday meets. Today is Supercar Saturday I believe.

No it was this weekend.

Next weekend (16th) is Another Level (biggest car show in Chicago all summer) and big meat (17th) which is organized by MKPoto from here.

There is a cars and coffee the 23rd which is same day as the BMW vs Audi golf thingy
