Exclamation DO NOT EXECDE 5,500 RPM during Break In Phase!

So I just picked up my M4 today from Sacramento and drove it down to San Diego. I was very lucky to learn that during the initial "Break in phase" (1,250 miles) the car must not go over 5,500 RPM. When you bring it in for its first service, the technician will be able to look up your driving chart and see if you drove it too aggressively. If you did, then they will void the 4 year/50,000mile warranty. Be careful!!

I call BS. Most peoplle who take the car out for a test drive run a good chance of exceeding 5500 rpm.

I guess I voided the warranty on all the M3/M4's I test drove

Honestly don't worry about it, the techs could careless what you do during break-in. I'm sure a few techs have broken the RPM limit in customer's cars they drive around the dealership.
