speedo and gauge pod e92.....

does it pop out? or does the plastic screen/cover come off?

i had my vehicle into dealership yesterday and i told the techs about a creak i was having in my dash just above the gauge pod

they told me they took it out and lubed it somehow and now the creaking is gone but i noticed a weird stain on the bottom right of the inside of the plastic screen and i want to see if i can clean it off, otherwise i will bring it back in

how could have the lube got down in there?

thanks

Two screws at the top, it kind of tilts downward then you can pull it out. Single cable at the back to disconnect. I believe they are T9 screws.

The DIY cluster LED swap shows how to get it out.

That removes the cluster - but you will then also have to remove the plastic lens from the cluster to clean the inside - no big deal though...

Yes

Here from DIY section:

Remove the 2 T-10 torq screws

Lift up the top of the dash and pull down and out on the cluster. It should come out pretty easy

Push down on the center tab and pull the lever all the way down to the cluster until it clicks and the plug will release

Remove the 4 T-9 torx screws from the back

Using flat screwdriver or fingers, release the 8 clips around the cluster

Lift off the front of the cluster. Now you have 2 pieces

If you want to see the entire post that deals with Needle Removal/Install & different color LED swap:
